Yuki’s Thoughts 3- What if I believe the lies? February 7, 2010

Assalamualaikumwarahmatullahiwabarakatuhu.

A’udhubillahiminashaitanirajeem.Bismillahirahmaniraheem.
((May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you).
(I seek protection in Allah swt from the accursed shaitan/devil/satan).
(In the name of God, the Most Kind, the Most Merciful)).

Hi everyone. Here is the 3rd instalment to Yuki’s thoughts. It addresses many questions about life in general. What happens if we believe the lies which surround us? What do you actually live for? Do you ever wake up and wonder, what is this world all about? Well…for me it is simple. We are here to worship God. Those questions are answered. We live for God. God gives us life and death and will give us life even after death for eternity. So…what are you waiting for?

Anyway…that was my little take on what she wrote. Here’s Yuki’s thoughts from last November:

Yuki’s Thoughts 3- What if I believe the lies?

(27-nov-09)

I lie here wondering about everything around me. I ask myself what I should do, but I can’t find a proper answer.  I see everything as formulas that don’t even make sense, while each breath takes my energy and turns it into dust that flies away with the wind without a decent farewell.  I have a veil over my eyes and spirit that won’t let me be lifted up by hope.  I can’t make out colors and I get confused with shapes.  How is it that my thoughts led me here?  Where is here? I’m not talking about physical location, but then again, could this all be an illusion?  That question brought a slight ray of hope that I might wake up and start a new day, get up and actually be able to see the sun’s light.

What if I believe the lies?  Would it make it less complicated?  Will I really deprive myself of my will –to comply with the will of everyone else? Sometimes I get tired of defending my beliefs and not seeing results.  But what shall we live for then? I look around and I come back to myself when I see symbols that remind me that this is real, that I’m alive; that my life is not a lie.

I must go on; I must flee from the cruel grasp of solitude. May God enlighten your path and show you the way to salvation.

Thank you for reading. Please leave your comments, to Yuki or me.

Hi.

This site is all about getting people’s lives from hardships to ease.

That includes things about human rights.

Every single person in the world deserves equal rights.

People need to be treated with respect.

We need justice in this world. We need a fair society…

Lol, I could go on about this issue all day…

But I thought a picture could express it too!

So I made the following picture, which says HUMAN RIGHTS. Inshallah/God-willing, I will make a lot of pictures to do with human rights.

Here’s the human rights pic:

Tiny version lol:

Also, the following were like the earlier versions of the pic, like I was kinda messing about with the effects and layout and stuff, and made the above pic as a result. So here they are:

Question: Did you/someone you know, stop self-harm, with the help of this blog?? January 29, 2010

World Hardship2Ease Day Theme now decided! January 24, 2010

Assalamualaikumwarahmatullahiwabarakatuhu.
A’udhubillahiminashaitanirajeem.Bismillahirahmaniraheem.
((May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you).
(I seek protection in Allah swt from the accursed shaitan/devil/satan).
(In the name of God, the Most Kind, the Most Merciful)).

The theme:

Hello everyone. The World Hardship2Ease Day Theme has now been decided!

It’s to help “STOP SELF-HARM”.

I decided this because of what YOU guys thought. A huge majority of you thought that self harm awareness, and prevention was a pressing matter in today’s society. It needs to be dealt with. And the way I’m trying to help, is by having a ‘world day’ lol, to deal with this issue. Btw, it’s not an ‘official’ world day. Like, it’s not registered, or anything, I just kinda made it up online, and I posted it as an ‘event’ on BloggersUnite. So I hope bloggers around the world will blog about self harm on the 23rd September. And I hope that anyone reading this, anyone that hears about the day etc takes part, in some way.

Like, you can blog about it, talk about it, help a self-harmer, comment on the stories on this blog by people who self-harm etc. There’s so much you can do on that day. So, whatever you’re going to do, please spread the word and start preparing now! Oh, and you can send it stories, real life experiences, poems etc. about self harm to me aswell, and they can all be posted up on the day! And if you blog about it, or if you do something practical on the day, like tell your school about the day etc. please leave comments on the blog and I’ll tell people about what you did.

Poll results

I said that it was YOU who wanted to talk freely about self harm for an entire day. How do I know this? Because I made some polls/surverys on this blog, and from the votes, that’s what was decided.

For example, on the poll which I asked you lot about what describes you best the top results were:

-‘Want to help someone here (comment on the people who write the stories)’

gained 13 votes (11% of overall votes)

And both of the following gained the same. 12 votes each, equalling to 10% overall votes each:

-‘Self harmer/Cutter’

-‘Just a visitor’

And the poll for ‘2010’s Hardship2ease Day Theme’, got the most votes for:

-‘Self harm’

It gained 13 votes, 50% of all votes

Poster:

Ok, so I made a quick poster, like VERY quickly haha. So, it isn’t brilliant. And thanks SO much, to whoever I got the background effect from…I actually can’t remember where I got it, lol, it might’ve been a deviantart site, I’m not sure…but I’m pretty sure it said it was free to use etc. So thank you. And yeah, the rest of it, well the writing lol is from me obviously.

Click on the following, to see a bigger, blown-up version of the pic:

Oh, and here’s another version of the pic:

Please feel free to copy these pictures, and and other ones which I made on this blog, to do with World Hardship2Ease Day. Spread the word. Thanks!

Ahwace feature: Help Invisible Children or TWLOHA Win $1 Million January 22, 2010

Assalamualaikumwarahmatullahiwabarakatuhu.

((May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you).

(I seek protection in Allah swt from the accursed shaitan/devil/satan).
(In the name of God, the Most Kind, the Most Merciful)).

Hi. Below is a lot of info about TWLOHA’s IMALIVE charity. Honestly, I think both of the charities up for the $1 Million are amazing, but personally, I’d like TWLOHA to win…But vote them both! Please!!! TWLOHA will use the money for a thing called ‘IMALIVE’ which is like the worlds first live network for suicide prevention, and people can actually be trained online on how to help! So those who want to volunteer, it’s much easier. And it’s amazing, ’cause so many people nowadays use the computer, so imagine if you saved a life through the internet through instant-messaging! The stuff below is all about  it, some of it’s kinda old info, like I think the voting actually ends tonight at midnight now! So please vote!!! It’s on FB btw.

Help Invisible Children and TWLOHA

For the past couple of months, thousands upon thousands of charities have been competing in Chase’s Community Giving contest on Facebook for the chance to win a $1 million donation. The final round has arrived, and wouldn’t you know it, two of our most popular Causes are neck-and-neck for the grand prize.

invisiblechildrentwloha
If you haven’t already, please take some time to vote for either To Write Love On Her Arms or Invisible Children – or both! Anyone can vote, and you get 5 votes to ration out as you wish. Just become a Fan of Chase Community Giving to start voting now.

The million dollar donation will help fund TWLOHA’s IMAlive online crisis center for suicide prevention, or help fund the rescue of child soldiers in Uganda and end a 20 year war. Like we said, you get five votes, so you can vote for both, just make sure youvote (there’s only one day left)!

We know our community has great influence and power when we put our mind to something, so make this happen, please get your vote on for these great causes right NOW!

About TWLOHA’s ‘IMALIVE’

As you know, TWLOHA is currently racing to complete a goal that would provide funds to build IMAlive, an online crisis center for people suffering from depression, self-injury or suicidal thoughts and are in need of support. We’ve even pledged to give them an extra $20,000 in January if they are able to reach their goal by the 31st.

twlohaimalive
Today, Reese Butler, the founder of the hopeline 1-800-SUICIDE, shared a bit of the vision for the IMAlive online crisis center and a few of the ideas they have for making it successful. Here’s an excerpt:

“We recognize the technological age we find ourselves in today and we know that millions of people in crisis will never pick up the phone. We believe that IMAlive is part of the solution to the problem. IMAlive is a live online crisis network that uses instant messaging to respond to people in crisis. People need a safe place to go 24 hours a day, seven days a week.Imagine again you’re that person in crisis, and you’ve started a chat on IMAlive.
The blinking cursor starts to move.

“I am here for you now.”
“I have been where you are now before, and I survived. I can help you get through this.”

We are poised to create the world’s first virtual crisis center. When it launches it will also be the first crisis center where 100% of the volunteers are trained and certified (including about 50 hours of suicide risk assessment and intervention skills, as well as having been confirmed in the ability to show empathy).

Read Reese’s full letter on TWLOHA’s blog, including information about how suicide personally affected him and how it motivated him to found the hopeline that has provided more than 3 million people with support.

You can also help TWLOHA fund their project by voting for them in the Chase Community Giving contest on Facebook! Chase will be giving $1 million to the charity with the most votes, so get voting!

Hey guys,

As you know we are very excited about our opportunity to win $1 million in the Chase Community Giving contest to aid the start-up of IMAlive, the first ever live online crisis network. We’ve invited our partner at Kristin Brooks Hope Center (1-800-SUICIDE) to share a bit of the ideas behind IMAlive and why we see this as such a valuable new program.

Thanks for caring. Don’t forget that you have until January 22nd to vote, so log onto Facebook and help us today!

With Hope,
Team TWLOHA

By Reese Butler, founder of 1-800-SUICIDE

Imagine being in crisis and not knowing where to turn. You are panicked, short of breath, and the pain is so palpable that you cannot feel or think about anything else. The terror of picking up the phone to call a hotline not knowing who will answer you prevents you from doing so. Or, even if you have the courage to pick up the phone, the sound of the person’s voice scares you and you hang up. We know this happens because over 30% of all people who call our hotlines do just that—they hang up as soon as they hear the human voice.

More importantly, we recognize the technological age we find ourselves in today and we know that millions of people in crisis will never pick up the phone. We believe that IMAlive is part of the solution to the problem. IMAlive is a live online crisis network that uses instant messaging to respond to people in crisis. People need a safe place to go 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Imagine again you’re that person in crisis, and you’ve started a chat on IMAlive.
The blinking cursor starts to move.

“I am here for you now.”
“I have been where you are now before, and I survived. I can help you get through this.”

Today an opportunity like this does not exist. But with your help we can deliver this miracle of hope and help by the fall of 2010. As the founder of 1-800-SUICIDE, I know firsthand how devastating it is to lose someone to suicide. In 1998 my wife Kristin committed suicide in a psychiatric ward 36 hours into her stay there. At the time there was nothing going on in the detection and prevention of postpartum depression, and very little being done in the field of suicide prevention. I was shocked to discover that there was not even a national hotline that would route a suicidal caller to help at a local crisis center.

Several months later I received a check for $34,045 from Kristin’s employers (her company death benefit). I decided to donate the money to start a foundation to prevent suicides like Kristin’s, and the first program was 1-800-SUICIDE.

Since that day we have helped to route more than 3 million callers to help and hope.

In 2005, the federal government released a study upon completion of a review of our network and our hotline. They spent three years and over $3,000,000.00 to learn that genuine empathy was the leading reason why our network worked. It also painfully revealed that when a crisis line worker was burned out and/or poorly trained callers suffered. Thankfully, 85% of the callers had good outcomes, and the other 15% were either neutral or negative. To read the study click here:

Comparing Models of Helper Behavior to Actual Practice in Telephone Crisis Intervention: A Silent Monitoring Study of Calls to the U.S. 1-800-SUICIDE Network

In partnership with To Write Love on Her Arms, and with the help of the QPR Institute and thePostSecret Community we now have the ability through technology to make sure 100% of all crisis line workers are properly trainedcertified and have shown empathy in the process. The coolest part about this for the Hopeline is that the volunteer does not need to travel to a local community crisis center but can do the entire training and certification online! For the thousands of volunteers who wanted to help but lived of miles from the nearest crisis center, this program will be the first gateway to be able to help the millions of people in crisis.

We are poised to create the world’s first virtual crisis center. When it launches it will also be the first crisis center where 100% of the volunteers are trained and certified (including about 50 hours of suicide risk assessment and intervention skills, as well as having been confirmed in the ability to show empathy).

This week we have an extraordinary opportunity to win one million dollars to help us reach our goals for this program: to train 1,000 certified volunteers, perfect the instant message interface, and hire and train the supervisors needed to assist the volunteers. IMAlive can begin a revolution in crisis intervention not just in the United States but worldwide as well. The Internet knows no boundaries and neither do we.

Help us achieve our dream and vision for building the world’s first virtual crisis support network. Click here to vote in the Chase Community Giving.

HELP HAITI

Assalamualaikum. Hello. I have put this post on both of my 2 main blogs (http://afterhardshipwillalwayscomeease.wordpress.com/ and http://hal786.wordpress.com/ ).

You guys must have all heard about what has happened in Haiti. It’s very sad indeed. A LOT of people have died, and many more are dying. I’ve heard that it’s estimated now that 200,000 are feared to be dead.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’oon”. “Verily we belong to God, and to God we return.”

We should all keep the people of Haiti in our prayers/ duas. Ya Allah/O God, please protect and forgive those in Haiti, Inshallah/God willing. Ameen.

Also, we should all be trying to help them in any way we can-especially if you can donate to charities which help them. For example, I asked my friends if they’d like to raise money for those suffering in Haiti. They said yes. So, then I asked the teacher in our school, who organises these kind of things. Now, Inshallah, this week, we are going to be collecting money from the students-and teachers- and give it to the DEC (the Disasters Emergency Committee). If you’re in the UK, I think that’s a good charity to donate to, because it’s actually many different charities/organisation working together AS ONE to help those affected in the earthquake in Haiti.

If you can’t physically donate any money, then there’s other things you can do online.

I have a whole list of them here for you.

How to help those in Haiti

I got this email from ‘BloggersUnite’:

Hi hal786,

In response to the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that rocked Haiti on Tuesday, BloggersUnite is asking bloggers around the globe to donate funds to international organizations providing aid to Haitian citizens and to use your blogs to inpsire others to get involved.

BloggersUnite For Haiti

The citizens of Haiti are currently dealing with devastation and suffering that few of us can even imagine. Tuesday’s earthquake has reduced large parts of the the country’s capitol, Port Au Prince, to rubble and devastated their already poor infrastructure making the task of delivering aid extremely difficult.

Official estimates from the region say that approximately 3 million people have been affected by this disaster and that somewhere between 45,00 to 50,000 people are may have died as a result of the earthquake.

How You Can Help

The most important thing you can do is donate to organizations providing aid to the citizens of Haiti. Bloggers can also use their sites to motivate others to give. It takes just a few minutes to add a donation widget to your blog or write a post informing your readers about how to give.

Doctors Without Borders is one of the organizations in the best position to provide critical medical care to those affected by this disaster. You can easily add one of their donation widgets to your blog:

Dear ONE Member,The harrowing images and stories coming out of Haiti are devastating to watch. Dear finance ministers, IMF, World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank and bilateral creditors:
As Haiti rebuilds from this disaster, please work to secure the immediate cancellation of Haiti’s $890 million debt and ensure that any emergency earthquake assistance is provided in the forms of grants, not debt-incurring loans.

Haiti’s debt was largely accrued under the corrupt Duvalier regime, which borrowed money recklessly and spent it selfishly for 30 years. The new government has struggled with debt payments. And now, as the nation tries to recover from one of the worst disasters in recent years we can help by lifting this debt.

The work ahead to recover from this tragedy is immense. So here’s our goal: $890 million for Haiti. That’s how much Haiti owes to the International Monetary Fund, the Inter-American Development Bank, and a handful of others.
